Meet us in the Parish Hall for Breakfast With A Purpose after the 8:00 AM Service. Daily Devotions The daily devotionals are now available in a booklet separate from the Sunday bulletins. These devotionals are in large print as well as an easy to carry size and can be found in the church entrance. Our homebound members will be mailed a large print copy. Each booklet includes three months of devotions. Jesus says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; Knock and the door will be opened to you.” Luke 11:9 |
The Journey Youth Group will hold a car wash next Sunday, April 28, in the Avenue K NW cul-de-sac (paved circle near playground) during the 10:30 a.m. service. A $5.00 minimum donation is requested for each car. If you wish to have your car washed, please park in the cul-de-sac or in front of the Pearce Center on Avenue K NW. All donations will go toward the youth summer mission trip. The Journey Youth Group members will attend the 8:00 a.m. service so they can be free to wash cars during the 10:30 a.m. service. There will be a pizza & pool party at the Head’s home after the car wash! Kindermusik classes, led by Marianne Beck, will be starting soon at St. Paul's Episcopal Church! This music and movement program, specifically designed for children from 1 ½ to 3 ½ years old, uses music to enhance the development of the whole child. .Parents and children participate together in the fun lap bounces, finger-plays, music making with instruments, dancing, and fun interactions with other families. A special session of Fiddle Dee Dee, focused on animal fun, will start in March. For more details, check the Music Connections website, www.musiconnx.com. St Paul's Computer Class begins meeting again in the Parish Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please NOTE - new time and location! Another important part of Angels Care Center of Eloise is the distribution of toiletries, first aid kits, and Jesus Kits. Items you can donate to help are: small soaps, antibacterial gel, deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brushes, band aids, small shampoos, etc. items needed for the children’s Jesus Kits are: stickers, erasers, small books, and things that share the message and love of Jesus Christ. A donation box is in the church entrance. ************************************* Senior Orphan Sunday ~ Every fourth Sunday, Fr. Paul blesses donations for the Senior Orphans of Polk County. The following is a basic list of needed items for senior citizens of Polk County whose income is less than $600 a month. Non-perishable foods, personal hygiene products (shampoo, soap, lotion, tooth brushes, tooth paste, q-tips, etc.), band-aids, wound ointment, blankets, sheets, towels, slippers, adult diapers, pajamas, sweaters, heaters, fans, pillows, cleaning supplies, bath stools, & gift cards (no toilet paper or clothes are needed at this time). New items are preferred. Please do not donate out-of date- foods. ****************** The Good Samaritan Ministry is blessing people with food and cheer. Their mission is to provide a meal and an uplifting message in the form of a card or note to St. Paul’s family members who have recently experienced a serious event in their life such as a surgery or the loss of a loved one. If you would like to help with this ministry, please contact Eileen Race at 294-3959 or Ann Lewis at 324-5026. ******************* Hospital Stays ~ If you are admitted to Winter Haven, Heart of Florida or Lakeland Regional Hospital, you must give the admitting clerk the specific name of your local church, i.e. St. Paul’s Episcopal, and give your permission for a member of the clergy to visit. If you fail to name St. Paul’s Episcopal as your church, or fail to say “yes” to the permission question, we will not know that you are in the hospital when we make our regular visits. ******************************* Communion ~ If you become homebound, temporarily or permanently, and would like to receive communion, please contact Deacon Susan at 324-1786 or Jere Lynne at 294-8888. *********************** If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary and would like to observe the occasion by bringing the elements (wine & communion wafers) to the altar, please contact Mandy Jarrett at 298-0680 and let her know when you would like to be scheduled.
